Perhaps mayor Goodman would be a better representative if he took a gander at the Declaration of Independence from time to time. " we hold these truths to be self evident that all men are endowed by their creator with certain inaliable rights ; life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness. " Perhaps he missed the part that includes "all men" . All men includes everyone reguardless of race, class, economic status, or orientation. To make legislation that excludes a group of society is unjust and unamerican. The declaration clearly states that government power is endowed by the citizens of society and that whne that power is abused the citizens have every right to remove that power.
The duty of government is to protect its citizens no matter how destitute they may be . If the mayor continues to make laws that target the homeless he violates both the declaration and the constitution. It is unlawful to sleep too close to feces (which im sure people would do if that had an option) , He has outlawed the feeding of the homeless , and he has closed a park fundamental to the homeless attaining food. With such abuses of power and the failure to protect all of his citizens and their rights he should be in fear of losing his job . Why isnt he you ask ? because he holds legislative hearings in places and at times that are hard to reach by the people he oppresses . This was one of the problems the founding fathers had with The oppressive king .
Dont let his attempts to silence people be successful let the mayor know what you think of his unfair laws and careless attitude. Put the fear of unemployment into his mind so perhaps he could understand the poor people he is continually discriminating against !

Thanks so much for your comments! Mayor Goodman has made numerous comments in the past about how he respects the Constitution of the United States of American. And then passes unjust, unconstitutional laws.
And then it seems that "nobody" cares. I mean, I know that "we" care and the poor and oppressed care. But many who are one step above homelessness don't speak up about the continual hypocrisy.
And more than many of the well to do citizens, and politicians, and corporations do not care enough to speak up for the poor,
And I know it seems like a cliche but each day I keep thinking of the poem attributed to Pastor Martin Niemöller: First they came...

On the possitive side, at the Dec. 6th city council meeting, many people got up and spoke for the oppressed including some homeless people.
