Community Mtg w/ Mayor @ Circle Park today - Homeless Issue
by lady D Wednesday May 24, 2006 at 05:28 PM

Stand up for the right to feed those that are hungry and the right to hang out in public parks! Tell the Mayor and the City that Circle Park belongs to THE PEOPLE!

Today, May 24, there is a non-advertised "Community Meeting" to address the quote unqoute, "Homeless Issue" (as stated by a Ward 3 Rep) in Huntridge Circle Park. The city invited neighborhood associations from the area, local business owners, and various individuals/organizations that specialize in homeless issues. Also expected to be in attendance is our City Council and Mayor Oscar Goodman. Of course FNB and it's supporters did not receive an official invite. BUT, of course you know folks will be there to stand up for the right to feed those that are hungry and the right to hang out in public parks.

What do you want to tell the Mayor and the City? COME TO THE MEETING!

Where: Huntridge Circle Park (On Maryland Pkwy near Charleston)

When: Today, 5/24 @ 5:30 PM

-- SUPPORT AND DEFEND FOOD NOT BOMBS and the right to feed those that are hungry!

-- Voice concern about the senseless citations and needless arrests for nonsensical offenses such as sidewalk chalking (one arrest and imprisonment 5/23...wtf?) and bringing food to a park to share with friends (harassed, cited, and arrested almost daily).

-- BRING YOUR VOICE. LET THE CITY KNOW HOW YOU FEEL!
