This is a collection of photographs I took at the anti-Iraq War protest at the Lloyd D. George Federal Courthouse on 17th March, 2007.

Took the pic at the article head as soon as I arrived at the demo 'round 2:20 PM. Don't know and never found out why the boys from ICE(the ones in black at the pic's centre)and Metro were parleying with some of the demonstrators.
But, however serious the matter might have been, it wasn't serious enough that anyone got a pair of esposas(Spanish for handcuffs and wives)slapped on 'em, Thank God.

This pic, like the pair of its kin above, I shot shortly after takin' the first one, so y'all can get some idea of the crowd size at the demo, 'round 2:30 PM or so that day.

This was taken at the info booth where one could pick up literature, sign a petition or two, or however many there were, make a donation, grab a sign, or get some free water and other goodies from Gail Sacco and her husband, Big Joe(both on pic's right).

This fella, with his decorated shopping cart, struck me as bein' one of the more colourful demonstrators at the event.
Have more pics of the 17th March demo to up-load here, and will do so to-morrow.
In the meantime, sorry for the awfully long delay in getting these up here, and hope that these, along with the others in this series, did the event some justice.

According to the woman carryin' the sign in this 'un, the sign's a vintage one.
What vintage, thou asks??? Viet-Nam War-era, of course.

What's That There Contraption???

The contraption wielded by the young lady with the motion picture camera in the pic's foreground is, I believe, a Steadicam.
Dave Peter suggested that I might use one of those, but am steady enough on my feet most of the time, unless I've been drinkin':).

Yup, this is the last one, and you've reached it.
Took this pic, like the two above it, because the young ladies in these have faces that, unlike Yours Truly's, won't break a camera.
Also, the young lady in this had been taking some pics of the demo herself that afternoon, so I thought I'd return the favour.
In parting, I have a piece of advice for those of you who may wonder why I didn't take any pics of attractive men or boys at the demo, and that's if you want 'em, you take 'em.
Anyhow, like I said at the end of this message when I wrote it the other day, hope these pics convey something of the spirit of the demo, and that they do it justice.
Thanks!
